During the 20's, an english archeology and fanatic researcher, Marc Antoine de Lavis-Trafford bought a farm near the "Col du petit Mont Cenis" to investigate. He became famous thanks to his obstinacy to prove that Hannibal, in 218 ac. J.C., passed with his elephants by the nearer "Col Clapier". He fit this house out in order to live in during the nice season. During World War 2, bombings struck the valley vigorously. After the war, he worked again on the house and added a floor.
The chalet hasn't changed on the outside since.

He also let a nice souvenir restoring, from his own funds, the apse of the 15th century Saint-Pierre d'Extravache church near the chalet.
